FAQs
CARING FOR YOUR PLATED JEWELLERY
Plating is a process where a layer of precious metal is placed on to coat the surface of another metal. As the jewellery is not 100% solid gold/rose gold/silver, extra care should be taken to maximise its lifespan. Anything plated will eventually tarnish with time and wear. Avoid getting your jewellery wet with water, soap, perfume, lotion and other chemicals. If the jewellery does get wet, wipe it immediately with a soft cloth. Avoid getting the jewellery wet with perspiration by removing it before engaging in strenuous exercise or swimming. Remove the plated jewellery when you sleep at night to reduce contact with the skin. It's best to store plated jewellery separately from other plated jewellery (in individual pouches or boxes) to avoid them rubbing against each other which can cause the plating to fade/tarnish faster
GOLD FILLED is a thick layer of gold over brass which lasts much longer and stands up to wear and tear better than plated jewellery
PLATED STAINLESS STEEL is tarnish and water resistant
